Remodel Day Eleven

DAY ELEVEN BEFORE - Dining Room rug remnants:

The second coat of texture was completed in the master bedroom.

We hired Jordan Frei to help us out. He was key, because I am running out of steam. We got the ceiling  and walls painted in the living room, dining room, kitchen, pantry, and hall way.

Got the master closet painted.

The patch in the living room got textured.

The master bedroom got painted.

And some surprised guests, Liisa Frei and the Berrys came and helped us paint the craft room. The carpet is being laid tomorrow so it was crucial that the craft room and master bed get finished before they get here to lay the carpet. They saved our hind quarters!
 Seriously, how cute is he?

Remodel Day Eight

We moved all of our belongings to the new house today. We're going to continue to sleep at the other place until this place is less of a construction zone. The clock is ticking on when we need to be out though, so we need to make sure we are keeping things moving.

All the window panes got textured today.

The ceiling got textured by Nick Frei, the beast!

The second coat of texture got done in the master bedroom.

The master closet got sheet rocked, taped and mudded.

 The master closet got demoed...

...and I smashed the hell out of my thumb in the process...my body is taking as much of a beating as this house is.

Remodel Day Seven

DAY SEVEN BEFORE - MASTER BEDROOM CLOSET
In order to gain more wall space in the closet we removed the accordion doors and framed it in so can  have a regular door.

I went with Liisa and picked out the carpet that is going to be installed in the craft room. I love it and could not be more excited. Plus, it was a remnant and so it was a great deal!

The master bedroom and the hall bathroom doors are now hung.

Remodel Day Six

We got the living room, hall way, master bathroom, hall bathroom, master bedroom, craft room, and play room all taped and mudded.

I got the white painted on the rest of the laundry room and got the blue all cut in.

While I was painting the laundry room I almost fell off the ladder and caught myself by hooking by foot into the side of the ladder. This was the result...good times...

Remodel Day Five

It was another really full day today. Nick Frei is a machine and we made some great progress.

DAY FIVE BEFORE - LAUNDRY ROOM
(On the left side of the pic you can see a long PVC pipe. The previous owners didn't punch out the pre-cut hole for the washer drain to go next to the washer water hook-up. So they plumbed a new drain with the GIANT PVC pipe to put the drain into. We punched out the hole and got rid of the PVC. )

I removed the upper cabinet on the right side and the shelving unit, painted the ceiling and one accent wall in the laundry room. I still need to paint the other three walls white.

The first layer of wall texture was finished in the great room, dining room, kitchen, and pantry.

We got started on the texture in the master bedroom.

The electrician and cable installers came today. We got all the wires where they should be now and not draped across the floor. We also had to move a lot of the electrical in the master and both baths to accommodate all the doorway movement.

Nick started patching the seam where we removed the wall in the living room. You can also see how we had the cable and and electrical wired to the middle of the wall so as to be able to make it easier to hang the TV without the cable hanging down.

We got the sheet rock hung on the new wall in the craft room and play room and the new master bedrooms/bathroom doorways.

And lastly, Jenna was a great help cutting in her bedroom and painting the molding in her bedroom.

Remodel Day Four

The old doorway to the hall bathroom has been framed in.

The new doorway to the old master bathroom, now the hall bathroom is on the right. The doorway to the master bedroom has been pushed back 5 feet and is now framed in.

The new doorway to the old hall bathroom now the master bathroom is framed in.

The old doorway to the master bathroom now to become the hall bathroom is framed in on the left. The new master bedroom doorway in the middle (and you can kind of see the old doorway to the master bath that got framed in.) And lastly the new doorway to the now master bathroom is on the right.

Remodel Day Three

Today was a major demolition day again. We are doing some pretty major overhauls to the master bedroom and the two bathrooms. I had a dream about the changes and now I can't them out of my head...so here we go. Because the master bathroom is sooooo much smaller then the hall bathroom is we want to swap them. But in order to do that, we will have to move the doorway to the master bedroom. So we are going to close in the doorway to the master bathroom, move the master bedroom door so that it is even with the wall in the master (so that the little hallway that is in the bedroom will become just part of the hall). The doorway to the hall bathroom will be filled and we will cut a new door way to the right of the new master bedroom doorway. I hope that make sense. Or at least the pictures will lend themselves to some clarification.

DAY THREE BEFORE - MASTER BATHROOM, MASTER BEDROOM,
HALL BATHROOM DOORWAYS:

The master bedroom door removed.

The sheet rock for the new hall bathroom doorway removed.

The amazing Nick Frei cutting out the doorway for the new hall bathroom.

Cutting a new door into the hall bath (soon to become the master bath) from the master bedroom.

DAY THREE BEFORE - JENNA'S BEDROOM

The fabulous Liisa Frei helping me paint Jenna's room.

I also removed the countless amounts of vinyl that was everywhere...you couldn't escape it...
