Our cat chipper has been lethargic and off for a while, when all of a sudden he had a major growth break out on his toe. It seemed to come out of no-where. After about 10 days it looked like this:
Luckily, Marnee and Kellie had just come into to town for a brief minute and Marnee was able to take a look at it. She said that we needed to get him into a vet asap. So off we went...
$850 dollars later, we have discovered that it was cancer. In fact a very fast, nasty cancer that is nick-named "cat killer". It had not spread to his lungs, thank goodness. But we did have to have the toe amputated. he seems to be doing much better. A was a pretty chilling reminded that our original "children" are getting old and we may not have them around much longer. We've had Chipper Jones Madsen aka Buddy Boy since we adopted him as a stray while living in Atlanta in 2002...a decade is a long time, my friends, and I wonder how much more time we will have with him.
