Remodel Day Four

The old doorway to the hall bathroom has been framed in.

The new doorway to the old master bathroom, now the hall bathroom is on the right. The doorway to the master bedroom has been pushed back 5 feet and is now framed in.

The new doorway to the old hall bathroom now the master bathroom is framed in.

The old doorway to the master bathroom now to become the hall bathroom is framed in on the left. The new master bedroom doorway in the middle (and you can kind of see the old doorway to the master bath that got framed in.) And lastly the new doorway to the now master bathroom is on the right.

Remodel Day Three

Today was a major demolition day again. We are doing some pretty major overhauls to the master bedroom and the two bathrooms. I had a dream about the changes and now I can't them out of my head...so here we go. Because the master bathroom is sooooo much smaller then the hall bathroom is we want to swap them. But in order to do that, we will have to move the doorway to the master bedroom. So we are going to close in the doorway to the master bathroom, move the master bedroom door so that it is even with the wall in the master (so that the little hallway that is in the bedroom will become just part of the hall). The doorway to the hall bathroom will be filled and we will cut a new door way to the right of the new master bedroom doorway. I hope that make sense. Or at least the pictures will lend themselves to some clarification.

DAY THREE BEFORE - MASTER BATHROOM, MASTER BEDROOM,
HALL BATHROOM DOORWAYS:

The master bedroom door removed.

The sheet rock for the new hall bathroom doorway removed.

The amazing Nick Frei cutting out the doorway for the new hall bathroom.

Cutting a new door into the hall bath (soon to become the master bath) from the master bedroom.

DAY THREE BEFORE - JENNA'S BEDROOM

The fabulous Liisa Frei helping me paint Jenna's room.

I also removed the countless amounts of vinyl that was everywhere...you couldn't escape it...

Remodel Day Two

Finally got to take down the AWFUL, crumbling iguana hanging above the garage.

DAY TWO - KITCHEN PANTRY BEFORE:

We tore out the horrible, utilitarian pantry and prepped the walls for texturing.

Casey sanded down the first layer of texture that had been completed on day one.

I filled the 1000 nail holes and prepped Jenna's bedroom for painting.

Let the games begin...Remodel Day One

DAY ONE BEFORE: THE FAMILY/LIVING ROOM WALL

Ciao Ciao wall...

Have I mentioned how unbelievably awesome Nick Frei is? He is going to being doing our remodel for us and I have never seen any one work as hard as he does. It's unreal!

Doesn't this already feel better?

To help hide the seam in the walls where we will need to patch from taking out the dividing wall we are retexturing all of the walls in the living room, dining room, kitchen, pantry, and hall way. Nick got the first coat done in the living room.

DAY ONE BEFORE - THE BONUS ROOM:

Since we tore the wall down between the family room and living room, we didn't feel like we needed two great rooms. So we are actually adding a wall to the bonus room. The room nearest the window with be a combo workout room/craft room. The other side will be a play room for Jenna.

We're home owners...again...

We closed on our new home this morning. It's on the Santa Clara Heights. A quite, mature neighborhood on the bluff above Santa Clara city. Built in 1996 it has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, is 2010 sq ft, and sits on a quarter acre lot. We're really excited to be on the west side of Saint George nearer to Freis, Berrys, Mitchells, etc. We are planning on some major remodeling to hopefully have the layout flow a little better. So here are the before pictures...

Thank goodness for "Grandma" Liisa Frei. Not only was she, once again, an amazing realtor, but she helped keep Jenna entertained while we were signing the paper work. May I just say, if you are looking for a real estate agent in the Greater Saint George, Utah area, I highly recommend her. You can reach her at ERA Real Estate at 435-628-1606.

Christmas Card Pictures

This has been a hectic time for us. We have been renting a house from the Henries and they have decided to sell the home. We have found another house and put an offer in and are hoping to close next week. So there has been a lot of packing and getting ready for our move on top of our regular chaos that tends to surround us. All that being said, it's been tough to set aside time to take pictures for our Christmas cards. So this year, we picked an evening, walked into the field next to the house, and set up the tripod. I think they turned out pretty good for the circumstances we were in....

The final product...

We also send out change of address cards with the Christmas cards...
